Lazy Saturday

Today was a bit of a lazy day.  We all slept in which was nice.  Okay, well we slept in because Benjamin woke up to eat at 6:15am which isn't too bad but he was SO LOUD until about 8am.  He seriously squealed, babbled and talked for over an hour.  Needless to say, he fell asleep again finally and slept until 10:15!

First we had some wrestle time with Daddy...
(He's been making this weird smacking sound with his lips and it's hilarious.  He kind of chews on them and makes weird noises)

Then we ventured out to hit just a few garage sales, look for a mattress at our local furniture place (nothing great there), look for tile supplies at our Habitat for Humanity ReStore, and make a quick trip to Wal-Mart.  When we came home Benjamin ate and then took a 1 1/2 hour nap.

While he was sleeping we had filled his pool with warm water so he could enjoy the warm summer weather....about 88 degrees today.  Since the water was warm this time, he loved it.

We then stripped him down to give him a mini bath before taking him out...I think he likes skinny dipping so we may have a problem!
He just chattered and squealed in this position.

He came inside and we all had dinner.  Then we took off for an evening walk...
He refused to look at the camera but doesn't he look so grown up?

Of course we don't exercise without a purpose, so it only made sense to walk to McDonalds for a chocolate dipped cone right?  :-)

That MAY or MAY NOT be his paci dipped in a tiny bit of ice cream.  If you are his pediatrician, it most certainly IS NOT ice cream.  Nope.

Definitely NOT a combo of ice cream and drool :-)

On our walk home we stopped at the little park for some sliding fun!

We got home right at 8 but little guy was knocked out right as we rounded the corner home

It was a bit of a lazy day, but a good one nonetheless!

It's Friiiiiday!

Yea!  It's Friday!  I really shouldn't be that happy considering we were only back in "regular week mode" from Wednesday on, but still....who doesn't love a weekend?

Tonight we ran a few errands in Albany.  We're looking for a guest room mattress and we think we found one we liked.  We grabbed an Arby's sandwich, ran quickly to Target and quickly to Home Depot.  We put the little guy down for bed, put the apricot cobbler with maple icing in the oven, and Peter had to run back to work to do something really fast, bummer.  But he'll be back soon so we can bum around and maybe find a movie worth watching on Netflix.

It was a great day.  I went to a few garage sales this morning (after Benjamin woke up for the first time at 8am again!!!)  Benjamin also napped for 2 hours this afternoon....it's been like that all week.  Hooray!  I don't know what I'm going to do if he ever reverts back to being a crazy sleeper but for now it is NICE!

I just adore him!

We're drooling quite a bit these days :-)

First time in a cart at Home Depot (though we technically put him in a cart at Target 15 minutes before)
We took him out of his carseat to give him a break while we ran into Target and then I thought we should try the cart because he's been sitting up a little better.  He wasn't sure what to make of it at first, but he actually really liked his new view and proceeded to explore the store from his fresh perspective.  He smiled almost the whole time, though you can't tell in this picture.  He seems so big though!!  So cute, but so big.

Makes Me Smile!

Hearing my little guy laugh just makes me smile!  A quick little video of our playtime tonight :-)

Family 4th of July

Last night we got home from our weekend trip to Idaho to visit with our families.  We took off Friday night after VBS so we didn't get in to my parents place until 2:30 in the morning.  Benjamin did great on the drive though and I was SO glad when we finally got there.
At 9:00am on Saturday morning Auntie Amanda and Grandfather couldn't wait for Benjamin to wake up on his own so they woke him up, ha!  Let's just say he was entertained, held and doted on from that moment on.  He was sooo good and secretly loved the attention I think.
Here's a few pictures of all the lovin' and fun times he had!
Snuggling with Grandma!

Checking out the rice cereal Auntie Amanda bought him.....not yet though!!

No, Benjamin wasn't sad Grandfather was holding him.  It's just that every time Benjamin was even a tiny bit fussy Grandfather picked him up, said "what's the matter" and proceeded to make sure he was smiling and happy again.  Sucker!

See what I mean?  Ha!

Benjamin and Auntie Amanda played together for so long!

Then they watched baby videos on youtube!

There were always some loving Grandma arms to be found whenever he needed a catnap

I kinda think his great grandma likes him

Staredown between Benjamin and Uncle Adam!

Meeting cousin Alexander for the first time!  Both look sooo different but both are soooo cute!

Storytime with (Aunt) Hannah!

Falling asleep with my Uncle Aaron

Despite how hard he tried not to show it, Uncle Aaron loves the little booger

Yet another nap in Grandma's arms

Benjamin slept SO good on the trip, I was so excited.  And last night he slept from 10:30 to 8:00!!!!!!

Watching the fishies!

Chewing on the teether Auntie Amanda bought me!

He was a wee bit happy to be the center of attention!

he definitely did not need his mama to make him happy on this weekend!

Did I mention that Auntie Amanda entertained him well????

Get it Benjamin!

Mama doesn't want to think about him being old enough to drive!

Learning to eat my toes with Grandma

Oh how these two LOVED each other

And did I mention he had a few people to play with him?

Tummy time bonding with Alexander and Uncle Alan

It really is a shame that these two don't like each other!  HA!

As if 1 Great Grandma, 1 Grandma, 1 Grandfather, 1 Auntie Amanda, 3 Uncles, 2 soon to be Aunts and 1 cousin wasn't enough........

we also got to spend half the weekend with Peter's family!!!  Off to see GongGong and Poppy!

Enjoying a 4th of July concert in the park!

Great find on the pinwheel Poppy....it entertained him for the longest time!

A rare moment when the grandparents were watching the concert and not the little guy!!

An even MORE rare moment where mama actually got to hold her baby!

We had a picnic BBQ in a beautiful park on Saturday night but I'm dumb and didn't take any pictures.  It was just beautiful though and was nice to get out and enjoy the evening.....and the s'more :-)

GongGong getting me all ready for bed after my bath!

You have to have storytime at GongGong's house!

Benjamin had a blast showing off all his latest skills and babbles to his Poppy and GongGong.  I think they were a little sad to see him go....considering Poppy tried to steal his Paci and Floppy in hopes that we'd have to come back.  I'm well trained though and don't leave for anywhere without them :-)  He'll be back soon though.....he loves it at your house!

We went back to spend some more time getting doted on by Grandma and Grandfather and Auntie Amanda before we had to head off back to Oregon.  I'm pretty sure Auntie Amanda cried all day on Tuesday....that's okay though, Benjamin was super sad too and can't wait to see you again in 2 weeks or so!!!!
It was a great trip, we sure love our families don't we Benjamin??
Yep, we sure do!

Off We Go!

This week has been CRAZY busy.  I guess it's gone by quick so that's good.  We're off to Idaho for the weekend.  Little guy helped me pack this morning.....which is good because he didn't nap :-)

Have a great weekend!
