What I'm Loving Wednesday

Okay, I've never done this before but I'm going to link up with another gal's blog who does a "What I'm Loving Wednesday" post each week.  It'll be fun to link up and make an easy way to sort through my random thoughts on this post.

*  I'm loving that my sweet little boy is napping right now.  For whatever reason, he has decided that he doesn't like sleep, and if he does sleep, it's only for about 40 minutes.  This coming from a boy who usually took 2 naps a day for at least 90 minutes each.  It must be a new 13 month old, new found walking independence stage or something right?

*  I'm loving that it is my husband's birthday tomorrow!!!  He is such a great husband and is an AMAZING daddy.  Benjamin and I love you sooooo much Peter.

Celebrating last year sometime around his birthday....boy does time fly!

*  I'm loving how much my son looks like his Daddy.  He has blue eyes like his Mama but I just adore how he takes after Peter.  I took this picture of a picture while we were visiting his parents in Idaho....do you think they look alike too?

Ben's face is a little rounder and I think Peter's ears were bigger, ha :-)
Like Father, Like Son!
they have soooo many similar mannerisms :-)

* I'm loving that Peter and I get our first night away together on Friday.  We're going to a concert which is pretty much impossible to do with a 13 month old, and of course we're hitting up The Cheesecake Factory which I really do think is one of my love languages :-)  We love Chris's outrageous chocolate cake.

* I'm loving Benjamin's new spring jacket from Old Navy, the orange is just so cute on him!

* I'm loving that we're getting closer and closer to garage sale season....I love seeking out a good deal.  It is the best way to find cheap children's clothes though you have to weed through the way too used stuff.

* I'm loving the jewelry of Lindsey Fitchett.....she has a nice selection on her etsy site and I just purchased this set of earrings for a friend's birthday.  Cute stuff!

* I'm loving how crazy my little man is lately.  (Okay, so maybe it's a love/hate relationship)
He is ALL. OVER. THE. PLACE.  It seriously takes me 10 times longer to do anything while he's awake.  Last night he spent over 30 minutes just running around the living room in circles and yelling.  He is loving how quickly he can walk and it is slowly becoming a run.  I think I have officially hit the stage of "my child runs me ragged every second he's awake" :-)  It's all bliss though.

* I'm loving that I have an oreo ice cream dessert in the freezer to share with our small group tonight.  YUM!!

Happy Wednesday everyone :-)

Falling Behind

I feel a bit behind on blogging.  It just seems like there's always something that needs to be done that prevents me from writing up a post.  I've got a lot to catch up on so here it is:

*  Friday was our Girls Night Bible Study and we had a movie night.  Some of the girls couldn't "get in" to Pride & Prejudice so we chatted in the dining room instead.  Let me tell you though, God is moving in some of those girls' hearts!  It's awesome to see them seeking Him and to have opportunities to share His truth with them.  It's what it's all about!

*  I also made a pizza dip for the girls and it was DELICIOUS.  Wish there was leftovers....

*  Saturday morning was spent running a few errands and things around the house.  In the afternoon we went to the birthday party of our friend's little girl, Haddie.  We love this little girl and can't believe she's 5!!  It was fun to celebrate with her.

*  Sunday morning we went to church.  Afterward, my friend Vicki and I were taking 8 girls to the Rock & Worship Roadshow in Portland!!!

It was awesome!!!  During a few of the artists I realized that I'm not 16 anymore because I couldn't even look at the stage with all the lights, etc and I couldn't hardly understand a word.  BUT, the girls loved it.  Mercy Me was incredible and the girls very clearly heard the Gospel of Jesus.  What a great opportunity for them to see 12,000 people all there to worship God.  It was super fun though getting home at 12:30am nearly killed me! :-)

*  Peter had Daddy duty while I was at the concert but he ended up going to the home of a family from our church and stayed there all afternoon.  This family has 10 kids so they all helped with Benjamin and he LOVED all the new toys and attention.  I was glad Peter was able to enjoy the day while I was away.

*  I'm now catching up on laundry and cleaning.  We're having our small group at our house this week so I have to wash all the drool streams off my floor before they come, ha!

* Benjamin is at SUCH A FUN AGE.  I'm seriously loving it.  He is so goofy and so happy most of the time.  I just love it.  He is now walking EVERYWHERE.  I'm still getting used to the fact that I turn around and he's RIGHT THERE because he can walk right behind you.  I am just really enjoying this stage.  That being said, he is into E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G.  He's decided to nap only about 45 minutes at a time and is just on the go, all the time.  It's crazy busy but I love it.  I'm so thankful for him.

*  I'm pumped because Peter and I are going away on Friday night.  Without Benjamin.  Though the thought still makes me kinda sick I know he'll be fine.  Our best friends are going to watch him and I know he'll have a blast.  Peter and I are going to another concert with Steve Green, Twila Paris, etc.....so it'll be a little different style than the last concert I went to :-) but it'll be awesome.  We'll probably hit up a Cheesecake Factory and sleep 8 uninterupted hours.  You know, pretty much heaven on earth!  It'll be nice to have a little time for just the two of us.

Okay, I think I'm caught up.  Here's a few pictures of my little love!

He had Cheerios in both hands so when one fell on the piano bench, he decided to just dive for it, ha!

taking his new car out for a spin in the neighborhood

apparently he thinks he needs an upgrade to a real car too!

my little monkey climber....he climbed all over the car

oh how I love to look at this face

showing off his hairstyle from the nap he just woke up from :-)

he loves to slide!

but he loves his Daddy even more!  He's been obsessed with his Daddy lately and it's adorable!!

Away we go (went?) to Idaho!

I know I've been a terrible blogger and haven't posted in awhile.  It's due to a combination of business, laziness and a 5 day trip to Idaho.  Ever since Benjamin was born we're pretty much required to make the near 500 mile trip home every 2 months or so :-)  And we happily oblige.

We left Thursday morning and got home late Monday night.  It always goes by too quickly and the 8 hour car ride still hurts my bum, but we had a great time.  Benjamin traveled amazingly and he was sooo good while we were there.  Sorry for the insane amount of pictures, but this blog is kind of like my scrapbook so I want to remember these times!

it obviously didn't take him very long to make himself comfortable, ha!
Benjamin is such a climber....kinda scary!
hooray for being at Nana's house!!!
I'm kinda thinking he enjoys the attention :-)
Benjamin and cousin Alexander playing with their favorite thing....coasters!

Benjamin loves riding in it and loooves pushing around his cousins as well.  He's a strong one!
Happy Birthday to you Benjamin!  The Elmo cake was adorable
My brother Aaron and his little girl Azalea, so cute!
 COUSINS!  Alexander, Azalea and Benjamin
Then we headed to Uniontown to spend time with Poppy & GongGong, YEAH!
we had a dinner/concert at an old mill on Saturday night
the food was great and the pianist was amazing
had to take a picture of the mother-in-law door on the top level of the mill....it leads out to nothing, ha ha ha!
 looking mighty handsome before church
I realized Benjamin kind of matched his Poppy, so fun!
We celebrated Benjamin again with some fun cupcakes!
Reading his awesome new books from Poppy & GongGong
We also celebrated Peter's birthday which is coming up on Thursday!!!

It was a great couple of days....we're already anxious to see everyone again soon.  Love you guys :-)
