Laid Back Sunday

Today was pretty low key.  We had another good church service this morning.  

Someone was a little excited when we told him it was Sunday....

After lunch Benjamin took a nap, and even I got in on about 20 minutes of shut-eye.  Tonight we went for a walk together, it was still mostly sunny but a little muggy feeling.  Benjamin went barefoot and it was so cute to see his little feet sticking out in the stroller!

We came home and just enjoyed playing with this sweet face!

Silver Creek Falls

What another gorgeous today!  It wasn't quite as warm as yesterday but it was still probably about 74 and sunny.  We decided to head off to Sublimity, OR and go for a hike at Silver Creek State Park.  Our friends Jeremy, Elijah and Haddie joined us too!

It was Benjamin's first time in the Kelty backpack but he really seemed to like it!  For the first hour of the hike he mostly just slept like this....

Elijah and Haddie did so great on the hike.  It was so fun to have them with us!

The park is just beautiful.  I think we saw 4 or 5 waterfalls on all the different routes.  It was a little crowded since it was a nice Saturday but it felt good to get out and get a bit of exercise.

After we hiked, we had a picnic lunch where I consumed far too many Mint Oreos.  We played a bit at the park where Benjamin had a complete diaper blowout, so fun!  The drive home was pretty and we had a tasty pasta dish with Jeremy and Kristen at their house for dinner.  We came home and gave Benjamin a bath and he talked so much, it was crazy.  He's really discovering his voice and I just love it.  Peter and I are both a bit wiped tonight (despite our obvious great physical condition!) so I think we'll sleep good.

I'm Walkin' on Sunshine

Woah, and don't it feel good!

Today was an absolutely gorgeous day.  Perfectly blue skies, 80 degrees, slight cool breeze.  

Definitely my idea of perfect weather.

This morning as soon as Benjamin started stirring, I woke him up so we could hit a few garage sales.  We went to a handful of them and found a few items, including a pair of cute baby jeans!  

Then, we headed off to enjoy playgroup with the other moms from our church.  We met at Waterloo Park and it was sooo nice to be outside, hanging out with friends and the kiddos.  Benjamin loves being outside and was so content hanging out with my friend Christina.  We came home to meet daddy for lunch and I cleaned a bit while Benjamin napped. 

After Peter got home from work, we decided to head to Corvallis to enjoy a fun night in the sun as a family.  First off, we stopped to grab yummy burritos at Baja Fresh....so good!

Then we headed to Avery Park to take a walk and enjoy the sunshine (and take a few pictures along the way, ha!)

Standing in front of Trimble, the company I used to work for.  The big window on the 2nd floor directly behind me was about where my office was.  I can't say I really miss it, but mostly because I quit work for this....

It was such a blast to watch him take in all the different sights, we really look forward to lots of parks with Benjamin this summer.

He must have played hard though, because no more than a minute after he was back in the car.....

That didn't deter Mommy and Daddy from making one more stop before heading home....

Why hello yellow cake batter with sprinkles goodness!  Nice to meet you chocolate Reeses Pieces gooey friend!  So glad you could join us to cap off our evening :-)

Though he didn't eat any ice cream, I still think he had a great night and was obviously tuckered out!  

What a perfect day spent with the family I'm so blessed with.
