6 Months!!

Benjamin had his 6 month well-baby check up appointment today so here is his 6 month post.

The appt was at 10:30 so I woke Benjamin up early so he'd nap early and he was really happy for just about the whole visit (though he didn't want to smile for the picture at the end!)

Here are his stats:

Height:  27 inches

Weight:  19lbs 4 oz (grandma was guessing 22 lbs....ha, we were all shocked he hadn't broke 20lbs)  :-)

Likes:  Bathtime (you've really started splashing), reading all kinds of stories, singing You Are My Sunshine, Head and Shoulders, Jesus Loves Me.  You love to be tickled, love watching for Daddy driving up in the driveway, your friend Haddie Joy, chewing on your toys, going for walks.  You love all things boy, you love to wrestle with your daddy, have pillows thrown at you, your basketball, playing in the sand, spanking/hitting your Floppy.  We love your rough and tumble craziness. 

Dislikes:  Having mommy feel for a tooth in your mouth (there's one popping on the bottom!!)  Not being able to reach something, sudden loud noises, holding still for mommy on the changing table :-)

Eating:  You still eat about 29oz of formula throughout 5 feedings.  You started solids at about 5 1/2 months and though you were a little hesitant at first you now LOVE your rice cereal but especially your oatmeal.  You eat solids 3 times a day.  We were given a highchair and you look so cute in it.  Tonight we tried squash for the first time and you weren't sure about it at all.  We'll try it again, hopefully you'll like it because it's so good for you. 

Sleeping:  A little over a week ago we switched your schedule to you having a bottle right before you went to bed at 8.  It's been great because you're now sleeping from about 8/8:30 until about 6:00am, then you'll go back to sleep for another 1 1/2 to 2 hours.  We miss our cuddle time with you at 11:00pm but like the extra sleep :-)  You're also napping 2 times a day, with an occasional 3rd catnap.  Nap lengths vary but are usually about 1 1/2 hours for one nap and 45 minutes for the other.  Mommy sings your favorite songs while rocking you before you go to sleep.

Personality:  Goofball, goofball, goofball.  You smile so huge when I go to get you in the morning.  I often catch you randomly laughing in your crib cracking yourself up over who knows what.  You squeal and scream all the time.  You love to roughhouse.  Your eyes light up when you see your daddy.  You're a bit of a cuddlebug but not too much, you're soooo curious to watch everything around you.  You're very alert.  You love riding in the front seat of shopping carts because you can stare at all the people and things around you.

Highlights:  1st camping trip, 1st time to visit the Pacific Ocean, having an awesome visit with Grandma, Grandfather and extended visit with your Auntie Amanda.  Starting solids into your diet, starting to cut your first tooth.  Pushing/scooting yourself backwards, you also rotate 360 degrees all the time in your crib.  You sit up sooooo well on your own and only occasionally fall. 

Benjamin we are crazy about you and feel so blessed to be your Mommy and Daddy.

You are growing up so fast but we are absolutely loving every moment.
