Seattle Vacation Day 3

On Day 3 we headed to the Flight Museum, which again we were able to get into for free with our pass.  We were there for the Blue Angels flight show.  Though I really think it ended up that the museum wasn't the best place to watch the show (I thought there would be more flight tricks visible) it was still a fun day.

The only downside was the time that Ethan threw his Floppy dog out of the stroller while we were looking at some of the exhibits.  And when it was time for Ethan to nap in the Ergo carrier, he kept saying "Ra Ra....Ra Ra" which is what he calls Floppy, and Floppy was nowhere to be found.  After a bit of investigating and checking all the lost and founds, we heard that someone had indeed found it but it never made its way to the lost and found.  Frustrated with having a baby that won't nap without his Ra Ra, I went walking on my own and went booth to booth asking if anyone had seen a little blue stuffed dog :-)  Finally, out of the corner of my eye I found Floppy sitting on top of a box on a table in one of the booths.  Someone must have put it there hoping its owner would find it.  I high tailed it over there and said HALLELUJAH!  The booth owners laughed at me.  Ethan said "Ra Ra!!!" with great delight and was asleep in less than a minute.

Which was great because he needed a nap before the very loud flight show began.  We brought earplugs though.

After the show was over, we decided to head to some air conditioning and went to Ben's equivilant of Disneyland........the LEGO STORE!!!  He had never been and we surprised him with the stop as we were walking through the mall.

He was SO.EXCITED.  And he didn't even care when we didn't buy anything, it was just awesome for him to explore all the cool sets and build things there.  We went to Olive Garden for dinner before heading back to my aunt and uncle's.  They were soooo sweet and bought a little cake and presents for Ethan since today was his actual birthday and he was officially 1 years old.  It was so thoughtful of them.

We had breakfast the next morning before heading back home.  Of course, Peter....ever the adventure loving husband that I have, wanted to take a detour to show the boys Mt. St. Helens so that's what we did.  I wasn't convinced it was going to be a great move since we can't exactly do long hikes very easily.  Come to find out, I was probably right.....they charged a ton of $$ to go into the visitors center, so we very quickly showed the boys the volcano before we drove the rest of the way home.

We arrived home early that evening and were able to take showers, unpack and settle back in.  It was a wonderful little getaway as a family and we will have fond memories of it for a very long time!
