Self-Defense, Headaches, Groceries & Football

The blog title pretty much sums up our weekend....random, I know!

Friday night we had our second Girls Night Bible study(I missed the 1st one while I was in San Diego)  We have it on Friday nights every other week.  Kristen and I both felt a burden to do more with the young girls somehow connected with our church and so far it's been a ton of fun and very encouraging!
This week was a bit different because a family that goes to our church owns a karate studio and offered to teach the girls a self-defense course.  That sounded great so off to Albany we went!
I didn't take any pictures because I was too busy learning how to "Defend, Escape and Attack" but we had a blast.  Some of the exercises were intense and almost killed me but it was really informative and a fun workout.  Of course, we had to stop for ice cream at the local Hasty Freeze afterward.  Fun night.
(Benjamin and Daddy had a blast at the park while Mommy was away)

Saturday we woke up and had a lazy breakfast then I started feeling cruddy with a terrible migraine.  The kind of headache where you almost feel nauseous and you're in terrible pain.  Fun fun fun.  So we didn't do a ton on Saturday.....Peter mowed the yard and we dabbled on a few projects at home but I felt terrible pretty much all day so it wasn't my favorite day.

He was not in the mood to take a picture, but I thought his little "Mama's Boy" shirt was cute (thanks Anita!)
Poor guy was so tuckered he couldn't even make it through his bedtime bottle....too precious!

This morning we headed to church and had a great service.  Benjamin did great in the nursery, they said he loves playing with the kids and he had just fallen asleep when the service was over.  We had a few errands to run in Albany and Corvallis so we ran to Costco, dropped off a few items to a friend, ate some Chinese food and grocery shopped at WinCo.
This was Benjamin's first time to enjoy Costco samples and let's just say he LOVED it.  He had squash, cheese and yogurt.  He thought it was the greatest thing (he's definitely your grandson Poppy!)  Peter and I were dying because for whatever reason today it seemed like everyone in Costco and WinCo thought he was adorable and felt they had to tell us.  Of course Benjamin just turns on the charm and smiles his big goofy grin at everyone which just adds fuel to the fire.  It was pretty funny, though we have to agree with them, he is pretty stinkin adorable.

Benjamin didn't nap well since we were out and about and he didn't really have time to nap so he went to bed a bit early tonight.  We spent the evening playing with him and watching football.

playtime is always interrupted when the football game gets close!
Haha, Peter pointed this out.....how many laptops do you see in this picture?
will he be a Network Analyst like his Daddy??
look who tried Cheerios for the first time tonight?
despite your best efforts Mom, I keep growing and growing!
like everything else, he of course loved Cheerios!
it was funny to watch him seek out each one
life is pretty good huh little guy?

Can't believe the weekend is pretty much over....so sad.
Even more so, I can't believe that this handsome little fella is 8 MONTHS OLD today.
(I'll do an 8 month post on him later this week...probably combined with the 7 month old post that I completely blew over!)

Happy 8 Months Benjamin, WE LOVE YOU!
