2 Months - Jonah

As usual this post is late, but I can hardly believe my little Jonah is 2 months (now closer to 3 months)  In some ways it feels as though time has flown by....but in other ways it feels as though he's been in our family forever.  I just think it's amazing how it takes such a short time for you to not be able to remember your life without each child.

Here is what our sweet little boy is up to:

Height:  23.5 inches (he grew 4.5 inches in 9 weeks!)

Weight:  11lbs 14ounces (he grew 5lbs 7ounces in 9 weeks)  Both are about the 50th percentile

Likes:  You love to be held!  You are a little cuddlebug and are very content in our arms.  You love to watch your brother and lay in his bed for nighttime stories and songs.  You love to get warm baths.  You love to nap in your swing and like your paci.  You like your playmat too and love to smile and coo during diaper changes.

Dislikes:  You don't like being in your carseat most of the time, especially if we aren't moving.  You don't like having to wait more than 5 seconds to eat.  You don't like to be put down for long periods of time.

Eating:  You are still breastfeeding.  Up until this last week it was 7 times a day but now we are usually at 6 times a day.  I'm not sure how much you drink each time but you nurse for about 15-20 minutes.  We tried giving you your first bottle on Easter Sunday afternoon and you drank for a few minutes before you realized you were being "fooled" then you refused to drink anymore and weren't satisfied until Mommy came to your rescue :-)

Sleeping:  You are improving in this area!  Usually you were eating around 10 or 11pm, sleeping until 2:30 and eating again at 5:30 then asleep again until around 9am.  This past week you have started only getting up to eat once usually around 3 or 4am.  You usually follow the routine of being awake for 1.5 hours then sleep for awhile so you take about 3-4 naps a day.  You sleep in the pack and play in our room and usually nap in your swing.  Mommy is going to transition you to sleeping in your crib for nighttime and naps after we get back from Idaho next week (wish me luck!)

Personality:  You are so good natured.  You have stared having a bit of a fussy time in late afternoon but for the most part you are pretty calm.  You smile at us all the time now and we love it.  You also laughed for the first time today, it was adorable.  I was tickling you after a diaper change and you giggled, you did it for daddy tonight after dinner too!  You are very observant and getting stronger every day.

Highlights:  We haven't gone on any major trips yet, just a few outings here and there but we are going to visit our families this weekend.  You went to church nursery for half of one service.....I'm not quite ready to send you there just yet! 

Jonah Caleb, you are such a wonderful addition to our family and we are head over heels in love with you.  We love watching you observe your big brother and we love to cuddle with you and watch you smile back.  You are such a precious gift and we are so grateful for you.  To the moon and back!
